About Andy

Care, Knowledge and Friendship

Being a tour guide is the best job that a Scotsman with a kilt can have!
I'm a graduate in History (especially Scottish History), with experience as an

archaeologist and museum researcher, and in current affairs and politics.

I'm related to the McDonald, McLean and Mackenzie clans, and have a strong

knowledge of Scotland's history, myths and legends, and the big issues that

affect modern day Scotland.

This is your tour; designed for you, and you alone.
I will be your guide, and it will be my pleasure to show you the best Scotland can offer.
There is no such thing as a daft question on my tours; just friendship and information

about this amazing country and its' people.

If by any chance, I'm  unavailable for the dates you request I will  recommend an

excellent

guide to take your tour instead.
Brian, Craig, Rob, and Steve are my colleagues, and are friendly, experienced guides

withgreat stories to tell.
Go to to the "Guest Feedback" page to see what my customers think, and above this

section there's a link to Trip Advisor for more reviews.

I normally take a maximum of 6 people on my tours, I don't mix different groups of guests on the same tour.

This means that I can tailor the tour exactly to my guests, and that I can get to know you all.

Larger tours can be very impersonal, and everyone has to compromise on the things that they do.

Not on my tours, they don't.

I want to make sure that you have a great time and that you feel you can ask me anything, or change plans with the minimum of fuss.  It's about being open and friendly, so small numbers are vital.

I'll be using either a Toyota Landcruiser 4x4 with air conditioning and leather seating for up to four people, or, for slightly larger groups up to my maximum of six people, a roomy people carrier.

You will be supplied with water and tissues; the car carries basic pharmaceutical items such as painkillers and motion sickness pills, as well as wipes, paper towels, and insect repellent and nets.

Your security and comfort is my focus, to ensure you have a stress free and fun holiday in Scotland.
